Too Big to Perform

“Things that are too big, too dangerous, or too ridiculous to be performed.
Rather than leaving the room, we each attempt them in our own way, confronting them head-on.”

On stage, the impossible operates in many forms. Things too big, too small, too dangerous, or simply too ridiculous to be performed. Yet it is precisely at this point that performance tests its own limits and conditions. The attempt to enact the impossible inevitably slips into failure, but that failure transforms into another kind of possibility in front of the audience.

Too Big to Perform reveals the impossible not as a halt or a surrender, but as a new point of departure. It is both command and play, a sincere attempt and a joke that ends in failure. Five bodies and voices linger precariously on the boundary between the possible and the impossible, and within this continuum, the audience confronts their own assumptions about what “impossible” is.
